Competent advice
- Appointment as a Competent Advisor is a cost effective solution providing the client with access to advice and a full range of services throughout the year (to an agreed time limit). This could include an annual compliance audit.
- As an alternative to the above appointed competent person arrangement, ad hoc competent advice can be provided as and when specific requirements arise.
Case Study: Appointed as a Competent Advisor for a Biopharmaceutical Company on an annual contract to provide support for up to 12 days per year. Responded to queries via email and phone, and visited site regularly to discuss issues and implement solutions. Provided a full range of services to ensure policies and procedures were up to date, risk assessments were in place and employees were trained. Provided competent advice at safety committee meetings. Enabled the client to be confident that they were complying with legislation and following best practice, confirmed by an HSE inspection. Provided a quarterly newsletter keeping the client up to date with current legislation and best practice.

Control of Hazardous Substances

Case Study: For a antibody supplier, performed a full audit of safety management systems, followed up by an in-depth horizontal audit of one aspect of the company’s commercial business, from horizon scanning to despatch of product to ensure that this operation was fully integrated and safety inclusive .
